Last Wednesday was my birthday and, as is tradition, I've tried my best to string out the celebrations for as along as possible. This year the birthday fun times have been extra wonderful and I thought I'd share some of the things I did and places I visited.
On the day itself Ross and I finally made it to Kitschnbake in Newport. This cute cake haven has been on my radar (read Instagram feed) for some time and it certainly lived up to my expectations. The interior is cute and quirky and the menu gave us plenty of delicious lunchtime snacks to choose from. The savory options were super tasty but the cake was even better! I went for a slice of Raspberry Ripple and it was heavenly.

The next day saw me heading through to Dundee with Heather for a sisterdate. We kicked things off in Jushi, a juice and sushi bar. Having only ever tried supermarket sushi I was excited to try a fresher version and again my tummy was not disappointed. Being a nice day we even got to eat our lunchtime treats outside. After a bit of shopping we headed to Metalurgey where I got my ears pierced, for the very first time! What better way to celebrate turning 28. Earrings have never been my favourite type of jewellery but when I spotted these Lou Taylor beauties, I knew it was time to take the plunge.
After all that excitement we headed to The Palais for tea and cake. One of Dundee's newer cafes, this family owned tearoom has a real retro living room feel. The walls are covered with photos of Dundee in days gone by and the counter is full of delicious cakes. After being refueled it was time for some drinks so it was off to Jute Cafe Bar at the DCA for peach beer and then onto my new favourite Dundee haunt, Jam Jar, for cocktails. Safe to say it was jam packed day!
My final day of birthday celebrations saw me heading through to Edinburgh for a day of epic fun. The afternoon was spent with my beauties Heather, Vicky (aka Miss Vicky Viola), Lynsay (aka Miss West End Girl) and, of course, Kimberley. We caught up, went all blogger in Hannah Zakari and chilled out in oh so pretty Spoon. It was so nice to see the Girl Gang ladies again and make some plans for future get togethers, which I am already super excited for!

The day didn't stop there though. After a quick change, into a totally age appropriate egg themed outfit, it was time to head to the disco, the roller disco that is! Roller Stop brought their pop up roller disco to Edinburgh just in time for my birthday and I couldn't miss the opportunity to get some skates on. Having not skated since I was about 10 it's safe to say I was rather shaky. With only one fall (right on my bottom) I wasn't put off and just kept on going. Roller Stop are just about to open up a permanent home in Glasgow and I am gutted it's not closer to me. I'm already looking up anywhere nearby where I can get my skate on. And, as if that wasn't enough exercise, we then moved on to some enthusiastic dancing at Electric Circus' club night Speaker Bite Me. Phew!

It's safe to say I had an awesome 3 day birthday with some of the most amazing friends a girl could hope for! To show my gratitude I made up some wee party bags. Yes I did just turn 28 and not 8, promise.

Best get planning for next years shenanigans if I'm gonna top all of this!

I was going to make some egg related pun to tell you how awesome your outfit is, but I think that might just be too lame. I also did not know that rose lemonade was a thing, but I can't wait to try it! :)
