The Gathering 6 kicked of a rather fun week for me. With my birthday on Wednesday, I took the whole week off work. It was a nice feeling finishing on Friday and knowing I had time to do whatever I fancied. A trip to Glasgow was a super way to start things off. I headed through a bit early and popped into the Abandon Ship Apparel store. I knew I had to catch their sale before it ended but wanted to try on before I bought, rather than just jumping in online. I love their long printed dresses but was a bit unsure how they'd fit over my generous booty. Luckily the stretchy material made it more than accommodating and, after some good underwear advice from the staff, I treated myself to a little something.
The rest of the afternoon was spent wondering around the shops, catching up with our friend Ashley and gorging on Mexican food and Margarita's at Pinto. All of this required a comfy outfit, so I opted for a fun Brat & Suzie tee and leather skirt. This is the skirt I wore as part of our Halloween shoot, I just made the last minute decision to take the scissors to it before leaving the house. I did like the longer length but found it more difficult to style and I just wasn't getting the wear out of it. I may regret my DIY later (as often happens) but for now I'm enjoying the shorter, more rock,n,roll length.
The boots haven't actually featured on the blog yet. I am kind of amazed as I wear them ALL the time. They are very comfortable and I love the wild print. The whole outfit was finished off perfectly with this fab Sugar & Vice necklace. Of course I went for the orange slice version. I love the bright colours and the gold glitter. In fact I loved it so much I painted my nails to match.
It was so nice to catch up with our Edinburgh blogger gals. Since I'm only really an Edinburgh blogger via my blogging duo status, I don't get to see these ladies enough. They are a super friendly bunch and it was lovely to meet some new faces in the form of Ema of Is It Vintage and Gill. We also meet the lovely Ann of Frock Trade, super sassy Lia of Swoon Nails and the mega sweet Wee & Twee (maker of my awesome fluffy bag). It was also great to catch up with G69 Clothing designer, Mark. These events are so good for seeing familiar faces and meeting amazing new people. Unfortunately we won't make it along to the next Gathering in New York (as much as we'd like to!) but we can't wait for the next Scottish event. We are also super exited to pick up our copies of the Scot Street Style annual - #Onward. Get your hands on one here.
