I was pee-my-pants level of excited for last weekend to roll around. We'd planned for ages to bring together our Girl Gang for a kitschy sleepover at Lynsay's gorgeous new flat (sneaky peek on her blog here). And, being Miss West End Girl, she had a whole itinerary planned to give us the Glasgow tour, filled with the best eats and treats.

Allegedly, it was the first weekend of spring but I have been to Glasgow enough times to know it always, always rains there. It was also chilly and windy. I've no idea why I bothered to style my hair, which is currently a faded violet colour that I love. Ghost hair is definitely my new thing!
Also (just to brag) I am so happy with my skin right now. Weeks of snotty fevers and changing weather left it all dry and sore, so I've been going completely make up free to give it a chance to recover. Apart from a few colleagues asking me if I'm ill- nope, just naturally pasty and sickly looking- it has been nice to have a break. I normally only wear tinted moisturiser anyway but a little blush, eyeliner and lip colour really boosted this look.

I decided to go full on stripes for this week's Styled By challenge, taking lead from my cute Brat & Suzie zebra T. It's fun wearing monochrome at the moment- it just pops with my hair and lip colour. I have so much jewellery at home that I'm just not making use of, so thought I'd change up my old trusty Warehouse jacket with some unused brooches I've had for ages. It's amazing what a change a fresh accessory or two can make. My girls already know how much of a blether I am, but I think it's only polite to warn strangers. This Scots slang Bonnie Bling brooch is the best way!

The sleepover was a whirlwind (pun intended) of activities. And food. All the food.
Our meet ups always seem to include some kind of sweetie filled goodiebags and this time was no exception. This time our hostess sent us home with Lush goodies too. Yum! I spent the entire week beforehand making us bespoke Pink Ladies-esque sleepmasks with all our individual glasses on. I had planned it for a while but never found my sewing machine (packed away in storage) so I hand sewed the whole set. I was pretty pleased with them, although I learned just how massive my own head is- and mine is super comfy so I've been wearing it ever since. I've already had commissions for more! Helen nearly out did my crafting with her homemade pinatas, filled with Cheap Frills "Best Witches" friendship hearts. You can check them out on her jewellery blog. They're pretty awesome (damn it!).

We ate bakery 47 cakes at The Glad Cafe, perused the infamous Gladrags Thrift, and ate the best brunch but my favourite thing was hanging out with Gary and the Girlgang at Lynsay and Gary's home. We watched the terribly amazing 80s sensation that is Teen Witch in our pyjamas. It's a must see film, for the perms and impromptu rap battles alone. We also got our childhood scares by watching Nickelodeon classic Are You Afraid Of The Dark. Like any teen sleepover, we did matching manis. Most of all my favourite thing was when my cheeks ached from giggling too much and I was exhausted by the sheer amount of blethering. To me, that is happiness.
