After last years outfit efforts, I felt that I had to wear something with handmade vibes to the Etsy Craft Party this time around. I didn't have much time to prepare something fresh, so decided to stick on this watermelon tshirt that I DIYed last year. The sun must have disappeared after I printed up this pattern because this is actually the first time I've worn it! I still love the neon pink colour. Plus the H&M tshirt I printed on is super loose and comfy. Always a good plan when an afternoon of munching M&Ms and mini marshmallows while crafting is on the cards.

My trusty eye tote bag added an extra DIY touch and provided me with space to store all my rubbish (unlike Kimberley's dino bag). I then piled on even more handcrafted bits and pieces in the form of my two headed ring and head pin. I've bought myself some dressmaking patterns recently so I'm hoping to have even more handmade items to add to my wardrobe. There's quite a large possibility I'll sew up one sleeve and then fall out with my sewing machine. It has happened many times before. So watch this space (but don't hold your breath).

The craft party itself definitely helped get my creativity going. We were making collages, one of my favourite things to do. I was cutting and sticking away to my hearts content, fully engrossed in my creations. With the wealth of weird black and white photos to hand, my first attempt turned out rather dark. Not that I'm complaining, I love a bit of creepy. For my second go I made my other half a get well soon card. He was full of the cold and I'd abandoned him in favour of crafting, so felt a little bad. Just a little. My final collage was bit more bright and fun, with jazzy and fuzzy triangles.

I'm loving these weather necklace that the fabulous Sugar & Vice sent to us. So perfect for the changeable Scottish summertime. I snagged this peeking sun one because I'm always of a sunny disposition. Or it could be because yellow fits more in my wardrobe. The unpredictable weather was definitely out in force in Edinburgh. My top may have been on the tropical side but I still needed my trusty leopard print coat to protect from the breeze.

So it turns out Saturday afternoon crafting works just as well as Sunday afternoon crafting. I'm just hoping I can keep this creative momentum up. I did use a bit of creativity when wrapping Kimberley's birthday present. At the last minute I realised I had no actual wrapping paper so got my colouring pens out to create this. That was one of the reasons I let Kim open her present early - the parcel tape I'd used was not staying stuck! Today is her actual birthday so I will take this moment to say a huge Happy Birthday to the Birthday Bitch and would encourage you all to do the same.
