Our diaries are now constantly full so there are a lot of events that we now have to say no to. But when the invite came in from Ted and Muffy to check out their latest winter boots we immediately cleared the date! You might be more familiar with the brand under its previous guise, DUO, and we were impressed at the DUO A/W 2014 event where they fitted us with our matching dream boots that we have worn to death (or at least would have if they weren't so well made!). Part of this event was to showcase the new brand. The company has re-branded for a fresher look and feel that they say is much more in keeping with the founders (Ted and Muffy) ethos. We liked the previous look but this refit felt like much more than a lick of paint- the space at the Edinburgh store is nearly unrecognizable, with an open, on-trend vibe. The boots have the same luxury feel- with familiar shapes sat alongside more fashion forward pieces- but everything has been amped up. Victoriana lace-ups, velvet military over-the-knees and bewitching pointed toes, there is something for everyone.
If you haven't already checked out their look book, do it now. Whimsical but tough, it's a stunning fairytale shoot. Also, I dare you not to fall in love with the look book film. Ugghhhhh!

We have already talked about the signature 'fairytale fit' of these boots but I'd like to stress that these ladies really do know their stuff. They fitters are like calf- savants; bra fitters of the shoe world. As well as measuring you up nicely with the tape measure, they all have these genius tips that you wouldn't even consider! ...And some really obvious ones, like if it's too tight round the ankle maybe you should try loosening the laces? (*cough*Helen)

The most popular boot of the night was undoubtedly the Empress- an over-the-knee suede heel that I think half the girls were drawn to. We already know what suits us though and that's the trusty, versatile ankle boot. I couldn't stay away from variants of my beloved suede boots! As soon as I slipped on the Albus in taupe I knew they were for me.The fit was perfect- like a suede slipper.
Helen went for the more witchy Rhapsody, a lace up leather with a pointed toe.

Thanks so much to Ted and Muffy and their skilled fitters for a lovely evening and for sorting us out with our winter boots. I'm sure they'll be making plenty of appearances on the blog!
