I don't know why I look so pissed off. That's just my face sometimes. Maybe I was bloody freezing, maybe I was already mourning not buying that gold dress at the Vintage Fair, or maybe I was mad because no one even noticed I had new glasses. Let's address all three:

When you are taking photos out and about it can sometimes be a case of a quick snap before diving back into the warmth. This is definitely the case when you're in peep toes and it's approaching freezing outside. Ah, Scotland! Having spent the day before dripping in Isolated Heroes sequins for a chilly wintry shoot for Cobbled Street Style, this outfit did not have the glamour to push me through the chilblains. (FYI we'll be sharing more of the glamour soon!)

Anyway, I was dressed sensibly for a day of snooping around Lou Lou's Vintage Fair (as mentioned yesterday) and a #girlboss meeting. Which is essentially Helen and I eating cake (because always cake) and going through our schedule for the month ahead. If you want to find out how we get ourselves organised, I wrote about it here. The Fair was surprisingly busy given that we arrived within an hour of opening. I found a few amazing amazing pieces but with my weight dropping right now I'm oblivious to what size I actually am. The gold dress felt a wee bit nippy (excuse the pun) around my chest but it did feel pretty good on. Now that I've seen the classy toilet cubicle photo I am totally wishing I'd bought it. That's the trouble with vintage fairs- you snooze you lose!

Also, I have new glasses everyone- take notice! My cheeky sister advised me they look pretty much the same as my last pair but I can assure you they are very different. I attended the lovely Betty & Bee Scottish blogger dinner back in December and picked a coveted IOLLA gift card from the Santa Sack. I didn't even have to consider what I wanted, as I'd already planned to treat myself to these Carnegie frames from my last visit to the show room. It was quick and easy to pop in my order online, upload a photo of my prescription and get the ball rolling. I'd planned to pick them up in person in case they needed adjusting (and to have another nosey for prescription sunglasses I need for May) but January seemed to just disappear on me (anyone else have that problem lately or am I just getting old?) and I couldn't make it through to Glasgow. So I sent IOLLA a wee email to ask for them to be posted out and they sorted it out straight away. Great customer service!
The one tiny thing I would say about them is that I ordered them in the walnut tortoise and I'm surprised by the lack of green that made them really pop in the showroom. There's just one tiny piece. I guess it's luck of the draw as to how the glasses are cut but it's a bit of a shame. Still, they look amazing!

I'm wearing a lot of New Look in this outfit. Like Helen, H&M is my preferred high street chain but I worked for New Look for a bit after graduating and out of habit it's still my staple for basics. Also, I always get their gift cards for Christmas (seriously, aunties- it's time to upgrade me!) so none of it cost me any pennies. I'm pretty good at sifting through the naff cheap looking rubbish to pick out bits I can mix with more luxe items but these were just to feed my recent jumper layering cravings. Because brrrr!

  1. The metal bone ring is super cute. It's subtle but still makes a statement. :]
