Happy three years of blogging to us!

It's been so nice to recap and reflect, and it's only left us wanting more. Bigger, better and brighter!
We aren't ever tired of each other, or of recreating our original The Shining twins poses as we do every year. We even pulled out the original Joy shirts (Eeek, look at those old beach hut pics with our matching shirts and looong hair). Everyone loves a birthday tradition.

Looking back on our old posts it's good to see how far we've come. Hopefully you'll agree that our photos look sharper and more polished compared to the early days. Plus we're both more comfortable in front of the camera. Of course, there's still a lot we can learn and a list of things we'd love to do to improve but it's nice to see there's been some progress. Blogging can be hard work  but we enjoy it and we get so much out of it. It's made us feel more confident and comfortable in our own style, we get to do lots of fun stuff and we've made a whole bunch of amazing friends along the way!

Blogging certainly isn't a bad hobby to have, and when you get to do it with your best friend it's even better. We may be reaching a point where people are introducing us as 'blogging life partners' but we can assure you that we're more sisters than spouses. Aah, what a beautiful wedding that would be though! Just imagine. Okay it would probably look a bit like our special birthday Roller Shakes video. Colourful and over the top. And with milkshakes. Have a gander...

So, you've heard the secret beginnings of Wardrobe Conversations (RIP Style Diner), you've enjoyed(?) the customised jackets and you may also have read our tips on how to blog as a duo (because everyone should team up!) now let's focus on our milkshake bar, Roller Shakes. In our minds it's all about over indulgence, colourful straws and lots and lots of sprinkles. We have our menu pretty much mapped out and all the glasses picked out too.  Tiger have it covered with their mint and orange range- so on brand! ... we even separately bought the exact same ones. WC psychic styling again! Okay, we may have over thought it a little bit (considering it ain't happening) but we do love a good milkshake. And we also love taking ideas a step too far.

In case you would like to make a signature Roller Shakes at home, we've got the recipes for you. Roller skates are optional.

Helen's Movie Night Shake
I love films, be it heading out to the cinema or having a cozy night in. And popcorn is always the best accompaniment  to a good movie. Pretty much every time I visit Kimberley we consume a bag of sweet and salted while watching a Meg Ryan romcom. I didn't think the salt would work very well in a milkshake so I decided on a toffee version. I added some Irish cream in there but that can be left out if you want a kid friendly version.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup milk
2 scoops vanilla icecream
1 scoop toffee icecream (optional. fudge flavour also works)
2 shots Irish cream (because I can't resist a boozy milkshake)
A squirt of toffee sauce

whipped cream to top
A handful of toffee popcorn

Basically all you have to do is pop all the ingredients in a bowl and mix it all together. A mixer makes life easier but you could use some good old elbow grease. Once it's all smooth, get your glass at the ready. Squirt some extra toffee sauce around the inside of the glass to make it pretty and then pour in the shake. Top off with a squirt of whipped cream and some toffee popcorn. A red striped straw is an important finishing touch. And you're done!

Kimberley's Bananas for Nutella Shake
Let's face it- it was always going to be chocolate. It had to be. I was considering doing a themed birthday cake one but my absolute favourite milkshakes (and I've tried a few in the name of research) are both peanut butter ones. Boozy Cow in Edinburgh does a special that's Snickers flavoured and amazing. My number one choice is Professor Nutty from Hula, Edinburgh though, which is peanut butter and banana. So let's do a combo (because more sugar is better):

Ingredients:
1/2 cup milk
2 scoops vanilla icecream
1/2 banana, sliced
4 tbsp Nutella (or more.. I won't tell)
1 tbsp peanut butter (optional but delicious)

whipped cream to top
sprinkles to garnish

Chuck it all in a blender or mixer and enjoy! Easy! Oh, but make sure the whipped cream and sprinkles go on top at the end. Otherwise things could get messy, and a bit lumpy. No one wants that.

Obviously, it's all about the presentation. You eat with your eyes, after all. These may only be served in fun cups with paper straws and extra sprinkles. It's the law.
