My sister likes a lot of things. Space is one. And dinosaurs are another. When she said she was going to be having a dino themed birthday party, I for one was not surprised. I knew there would be lots of fun prehistoric decorations and delicious dino food. And I knew exactly what I would be wearing. Dressing to a theme is one of my favourite things to do. I love it even more when I have something suitable already sitting in my wardrobe. This Vintage Style Me dress was just the ticket. It may have appeared on this blog a few times before but when something works it works, and I am going to continue to work it!

Dinosaurs are usually associated with boys, just go into any toy store and this is clear. Whereas pink is piled on us girls. So I thought I'd mix the two together for my party outfit. I loved dinosaurs as a little girl. Land Before Time was a top movie pick of mine and there are still a pile of dinosaurs toys in my Dads house. Of course I was never quite as big a fan as my little sister. Heather had a whole book where she went back in time to visit the dinosaurs! But then I had a book where I was a mermaid. You know, one of these kind of things. You got to love childhood presents. Speaking of presents, I got Heather an awesome Punky Pins dinosaur necklaces as a birthday gift. The colours are perfect and go so well with The Whitepepper dress that was another gift from me. Themed presents are also a signature of mine. I love it when everything fits together!

The party itself was a lot of fun. There were some dinotastic touches and the atmosphere was relaxed. It got me thinking about what other themes I'd like to dress to. Then I got carried away and made a whole Pinterest party board. So far I've got donuts, 1920s, space, circus, kitty. I could go on and on, and I probably will. If there's something I love more than dressing for party, it's planning a party. I am all about picking decorations and running with a theme. Pinterest is perfect for finding fun details and ideas. If only I had the money, time and occasions to throw all of these parties!
