Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.
It isn't quite spring anymore, but florals for a summer wedding could also be considered a bit on the cliché side. The thing about clichés is that they've usually become such for a reason. A floral dress is the perfect attire for a wedding guest. Bright, cheerful and with little chance that you'll end up accidentally matching the bridesmaids. It just works. I mean, our whole group turned up in florals for our friends big day and there wasn't an embarrassing doubler dress in sight. The matching theme wasn't on purpose but I think we all looked great together. It just shows how diverse a flower print can be. There really is a pattern out there for everyone.

My florals were from Oasis' V&A collection. I'd been eyeing it up in the shop window for weeks. I loved the colours, pattern and shape of it. I even went in and tried it on. A couple of times in fact. But I really didn't want to spend too much. Then the shopping gods came to my aid with a half price sale on dresses. Don't you love it when that happens! So that was the dress sorted. I then popped on some glittery heels and a shiny clutch bag, because every special occasions deserves some sparkle. Both of which were bought and worn for previous weddings. A whole new outfit isn't a requirement when mixing old and new pieces can work just as well. I do enjoy this bag as a wedding accessory. It's fancy, but with a bit of creepy added in. I'm a sucker for a creepy accessory. Plus it has a touch of tackiness, which makes me smile.

And here's a closer look at everyone else's wedding guest style. Sven may not be wearing florals but he still looks pretty dapper. Plus he didn't want to miss out on the blogger poses.

The wedding itself was an absolute ball. There was photobooth fun, gorging at the sweetie table and dancing the night away. All in the beautiful surroundings of Fasque Castle. A huge congratulations to the happy couple, Suzy and Andrew. It was a pleasure to rock some florals on your big day.

I love these florals - nicely different from the other styles. Really love Gemma & Chloe's dresses too <3

Love you in this, Helen! I'll definitely need to make it down to Edinburgh next summer for all the fashion goings-on. x
ReplyDeleteI have been a wedding vender (Photographer) in the area for twenty five years and I have never been treated so well by a wedding venue like I was at this place. I am usually taken care of as a "last on the list" at venues, which I understand where the bride, groom and guest come first but the entire staff from the minute I walked in the Chicago wedding venues door treated me so well.
