February Wishlist

wishlist, February wish list, blogger wishlist, pastel wishlist, spring wishlist, Lola May blue smock dress, Sweet As Can Be, mermaid bag, marble design clutch, fridge magnets, Liv&Dom, liv & dom, You Make Me Design, vintage style necklace, pastel necklace, Emma Warren Design
1.) Blue Eyelet Smock Dress | Lola May
I'm just dying for spring to show up so I can wear pretty floaty dresses like this one. Blue isn't really my colour but I'm loving this pastel shade, it makes me think of clear skies. The eyelet detail is a nice finishing touch and I could see myself having fun swapping different ribbons in.

2.) Mermaid Bag | Sweet As Can Be
Speaking of pretty pastels this little pouch has them all. I do enjoy a good marble effect and this one is particularly swirly, just the way I like it.

3.) Nudes with Booze Fridge Magnets | Liv & Dom
This set of fridge magnets are a rather cheeky way to add some fun to the kitchen. I like these ones holding booze (I only wish my bottle of gin was as large as this ladies) but Liv & Dom also have some with fruit and junk food

4.) Mid Century Breezeblock Necklace | You Make Me Design
Looking at this necklace I can see me wearing it on top of a fresh white shirt. The vintage style of it is subtle and I love the range of colours. You can even pick the chain colour and length for the perfect combination.

5.) Embroidered Bee Button Down Skirt | Emma Warren Design
I haven't owned a denim skirt for quite some time but this one is making me want one big time. The bee detail is fun and has me hankering after spring time even more.

wish list, wishlist, blogger wishlist, February wish list, Ichi for Joy Store, patterned dress,Toby Likes Cats, cat accessory, Miista shoes, dalmatian print, spotty shirt, People Tree, Patricia Nicolas, fish earrings, acrylic earrings

1.) Blanche White Slip Ons | Miista Shoes
Logically, I know I shouldn't like these. They're clunky and tacky, and those Marc Jacobs'-esque flowers are so done. And yet. Every time they pop up in my feed I feel myself checking them out. You had me at memory foam insoles...

2.) Enamel Cat Shoelace Charm | Toby Likes Cats
All this recent cat talk must have leaked into my brain and now I keep looking at cat-based accessories, What is happening..? But I do want to vouch for shoelace charms making a comeback a la 1996 and I'd gladly pop these cuties on my trainers.

3.) Celima Abstract Dress | Ichi via Joy Store
A very simple pattern in quite muted tones, I'm kind of in love with this dress. It's totally wearable for the office or weekends. Gah, so pretty! Joy Store has a load of nice things in at the moment too.

4.) Joelle Top | People Tree
I often sort of forget that People Tree exist, until this collection came out that is. I'm loving all the fresh colours and print but I have to choose a dalmatian print as my favourite. Also available as a dress and skirt.

5.) Seaweed Earrings | Patricia Nicolas
Statement earrings, moi? These are fab danglers that I'd love to own. Patricia Nicolas jewellery is statement and fun, but also reasonably priced. I also really love the For Your Eyes collection, and I think Helen would like it too.

While Kimberley's been visiting the kitties in Maison de Moggy I've been adding more cat themed clothing to my wardrobe. I would certainly be prepared to dress to a feline theme at a moments notice. This is now my third cat outfit to feature on the blog, after my Kerrie Aldo pinafore dress and H&M top, and I'm sure it won't be my last. I just can't help but be attracted to anything that features these cute little fluff balls. What can I say? I just love any way to express my crazy cat lady status, apart from actually owning cats. Not that I wouldn't love to do that too. Sadly it's just not practical for me at the moment. Maybe a trip to the cat cafe is in order!

This particular jumper is even more crazy than my other cat items. Just look at it. I'm not sure what's going on with it but it's wonderful! It's certainly helped to kick me out of my monochrome phase and embrace my colourful side again. The mix of pink and blues keeps me bright while the jumper itself keeps me super cosy, the perfect combination for this tough period between winter and spring. I also love the fact that the cats are a bit creepy and ghost-like, it all adds to the fun! I'd been eyeing up this jumper on the La La Land website so when it went on sale it was a no brainer. Unfortunately it's sold out now but there's still plenty of fun clothing on the site to get excited about, alongside loads of awesome accessories, homeware and more. It's always one of my first ports of call whenever I'm doing any gift buying so I thoroughly recommend checking them out.

This cute little necklace adds an extra feline touch. It was birthday gift from a friend who knows and understands my love for these cute creatures. The earrings were also a gift, this time a Christmas present from my lovely litttle sis. My friends and family know my jewellery taste so well! The hand ring and the arch ring were made by me. Yep, I made it back into the workshop to create a few birthday presents and managed to also make these two gifts for myself. I'm happy with how they turned out and can't wait to get back in to create some more.

What Kimberley Wore: Maison de Moggy

We first covered Edinburgh's first cat cafe, Maison de Moggy, before it even opened its doors in 2015. I've known owner Laura O'Neill for years, and have followed the journey of the hugely successful cat cafe since the first kittens were roaming Laura's flat. I must admit that this was my first visit to Maison de Moggy though, and it wasn't even my idea!

Helen is the cat lady of the two of us, and she quickly booked in a visit to the original premises when it opened. I'm not a massive cat person (sorry), so I've just never had a reason to pop along. I don't dislike cats; I'm just kind of indifferent to them.  I must admit that walking past and seeing fluffy little Guillaume in the window was starting to make me curious, though. So, when Ian chose it as his birthday treat I groaned a bit, but I secretly wanted a closer look.

Before I visited the Grassmarket cafe, I thought that it would be a 'cafe' environment with cats wandering around. It was actually more like a cat play park with cake and coffees. I enjoyed my coconut cake and hot chocolate, and stood awkwardly to the side with all the other boyfriends who'd been dragged along. Soon I found myself petting those sneaky felines. They are just so damn fluffy. And pretty. And precious. What's happening..?

I knew already that the cats are well taken care of but I was really impressed by how well the place was outfitted, with plenty of places for the cats to explore. There were toys and hidey holes everywhere. The cats could sleep out of reach if they weren't interested in playing and the visits are kept to one hour in small groups. I found it a bit odd watching grown adults waggling cat toys but the cats were enjoying it.  It's certainly a cat's life!

Although all the fluffiness was cute (Guillaume reigns as king), I have to say that the sphynx cat, Elodie, is my favourite. She was very lively, inquisitive, and perches on shoulders. And she has a whole wardrobe of jumpers- a girl after my own heart!

And what does one wear to a cat cafe? Helen is probably horrified that I didn't dress to the theme but I don't have any cat- inspired clothing. Since I didn't have time to raid her wardrobe, I thought I'd wear something fun. What matches cat cafes better than sushi and noodle prints? This The Whitepepper shirt dress doesn't get enough wear so I hauled it out. It's not really a winter dress but I've been trying to layer up a bit with simple dark block colours.

If you're in Edinburgh (and enjoy feline company) Maison de Moggy is definitely worth the visit. You have to book in advance though, it's popular. Link me up any posts or photos you have- I'm sure Ian would like to check them out! And maybe I'll have a little peak too... they're so floofy....

Thanks to Ian Finlayson for my outfit photos.
