Top 5: Galentine's Day Inspiration

Happy Galentine's Day, gang!!! We've been going crazy celebrating our girls (and guys) all week and we're so glad you've enjoyed our posts. There's also been a fabulous guest post from blogger babe - Frankly Ms Shankly. We hope you've enjoyed our posts sharing our outfits and girl boss highlights. We thought we'd finish off the week with some inspiration for how to celebrate with your Gals this February 13th. It's all about relaxed fun times with your favourite people. Or why not get to know your acquaintances by getting them involved. Sometimes it can be tricky making new friends when you're a bit older so why not make the first move? And, of course, most of these suggestions would work pretty well for a chilled out Valentine's date with your other half too...

1.) Coffee and Cake
Always a classic. A great way to catch up- plus you get to eat tasty sweet treats! Winner. After shooting our Galentine's photos with Emily we made our way along to Mademoiselle Macaron and treated ourselves to a well deserved hot beverage.

2.) Board Game Tournament
Board games are for life, not just for Christmas. We're big fans of getting competitive over Cluedo or a bit silly with Cards Against |humanity. Get some teams on the go and play to the death. Okay, so your tournament might not get quite so competitive.

3.) Movie Day
Get comfy in your pjs, get the popcorn ready and prepare to veg out. Pick a theme and run with it. It could be films featuring your favourite crushes, favourite childhood films or your favourite rom coms. A Meg Ryan double bill is always a fave for us. Or why not head out to the cinema? Treat yourself and your ladies to an upmarket film experience at somewhere fancy pants like the Dominian.

4.) Get Crafty
Get the glue and glitter at the ready and craft your pals a love note. The more over the top the better. Fill it with the reasons why you love your ladies, a fun memory or a cheesy poem. And for added effect why not post it via snail mail so they get a happy little surprise. These were our fun creations using pom poms, stickers and coloured pencils. How awesome are Emily's drawings of us?! We love them.

5.) Be a Tourist
Forget about traveling on Valentine's weekend, this is all about being a tourist in your own city.  Go on a photowalk, visit a museum you haven't been to for ages or just work your way around your local landmarks. We decided to check out Edinburgh Castle by walking round the base via a path we've never used before. You don't get much more landmarky than that.

Thanks to Boya Shen for our group photographs.
